Hey, I'm Eric

I am a Sr. System Integration Engineer at MxD USA. MxD stands for Manufacturing Times Digital, which represents my passions for manufacturing, digital manufacturing, and engineering. As a systems engineer, I work with MxD members and partners to integrate their manufacturing systems and solutions on our "Future Factory Floor". Our factory floor acts as a space for academia, large companies, and small to medium manufacturers (SMMs) to come together and demystify concepts surrounding the Digital Enterprise and Industry 4.0. In my role, I help create and implement solutions ranging from local control level solutions to enterprise level system implementations including Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), and Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) type systems. 

In my free time, I operate a small manufacturing and engineering firm called KozikPlastics. I work with companies to augment their product development lifecycle and provide engineering expertise to improve their design for manufacturing (DFM) concepts, prototyping timelines,  access to prototyping equipment, and inventory and process management systems. I work with industries such as automotive, sports, and retail. 

Outside of work, my family is one of the most important aspects in my life, they are the reason I am who I am today. My parents immigrated to the United States in the late 1980's from Northeast Poland. I was born and raised in Chicago, IL and brought up in traditional Polish culture. To further understand my families culture I attended 12 years of Polish Language and Culture school, as well as participated in an International Folklore team for 10 years, traveling the world to over 12 countries sharing our culture and learning about others.
